wHet Polish Swatches + Review

Hey everyone!
This post took me longer to write than I thought it would...school is kicking me in the butt so hard this semester. T____________T
But I will never stop doing my nails because of school! So I stayed up super late last night (well, technically 4 in the morning) so I could finish editing these photos so I could share this polish and its awesomeness with you all.
I received a few polishes from wHet nails a few weeks ago to play around with and review. I used them to make a really fun dry marble design (which, if you missed, you can check out here..). Once I can clear more space of my laptop's hard drive, (it's kinda full, yeah, super embarrassing and it really sucks..guess how many thousands of photos I have on this baby..) then I'll be able to finish editing my tutorial for that design, which will get posted first on my YouTube channel..(; It's super easy, so I hope it inspires a lot of you to try it for yourself!
Enough about that..on to some swatches..

Kerfuffle
A pastel, sky blue.
Shown with two coats and a top coat.
This polish was my favorite in terms of application. They all applied really nicely, but this one was like spreading hot butter all over my nails, the toast in this metaphor. Bad joke, but yeah I couldn't think of a better way to describe it. Super smooth. Dried without air bubbles or brush strokes. I'm really in love with this one all around!

Machiavellian
A golden brown with a lighter gold shimmer and holographic dust.
Shown with 2 coats and a top coat.
Smooth application and relatively fast dry time.
A little thin, but you still only need two coats for the polish the be opaque. Machiavellian looks really sophisticated in the shade, and really glamorous in the sun. This combination is super fun!

Wanderlust
A dark, navy blue with a deep purple shimmer.
Shown with 2 coats and a top coat.
Smooth application and relatively fast dry time.
This polish is really beautiful. The blue is so deep and rich. It almost looks black under certain lighting. I brightened this photo a bit so you can actually see what the color looks like to a normal human's eye.
The purple shimmer can make you drool. (Well, it made me drool, soooo...)

Serendipity
Purple shimmer.
Shown with 2 coats and a top coat.
This nail polish is the only one that reacted funny when I put the top coat on. As you can see in this photo, the polish became wrinkly seconds after applying a top coat. It eventually smoothed out, but you can still visibly see the brush strokes. It's too bad..this is a gorgeous shade of purple. I'll probably still keep it around and wear it again, making sure I use a different top coat.
(For all you wondering, I used Salon Perfect's top coat.) This never happened to me before, so I'm really confused as to why it did..

You can see it smoothed out after a few minutes..

Salacious
Hot pink/red with a golden shimmer.
Shown with two coats and a top coat.
Smooth application and relatively fast dry time.
This polish is so glossy!

Quixotic
Plum purple.
Smooth application and relatively fast dry time.
This polish, along with Machiavellian, is very formal and elegant. They are beautiful and flashy colors, yet subtle enough for the work place (in my humble opinion).

Autumn Leaves Nail Art

Hey everyone!
Summer is coming to an end, and the smell of autumn is in the air!
When I was in Seattle, Washington a few weeks ago, I came across a couple of beautifully colored leaves on the ground while I was walking around one day. I grabbed them, not really knowing what I was going to do with them. I wanted to keep them because they were so colorful and bright!
So when I was trying to come up with some autumn related nail art, I thought it would be fun to paint a leaf-inspired design. Then I thought, why not just stick the leaves on my nails? I've done it before with other things... (like flowers and shells..), so I thought, why not leaves?

So bright and colorful!!

I used Pretty Woman nail polish "Sun of a Beach"

Autumn is my favorite season, so I hope that I can do a lot of nail art related to this season!
Check out a fun pumpkin design I did around this time last year for more autumn nail art inspiration.

I hope you're having a great week, thanks for reading!

Pink and Gold "Half Mani"

Hey everyone!
I was feeling super lazy last night when trying to decide what to do on my nails. I didn't want to do anything too involved, because it was already getting so late. I wanted to do my nails in less than 5 minutes and go to bed! I also didn't want to do any post-design "clean-up". No french manicure, that's too fancy for a normal school day! So I figured, I won't paint all the way to my cuticles.

I ended up with this "half-mani" design. The OPI Design Series polishes are usually my "go-to" polishes for when I don't want to do any nail art, or for when I just don't know what to do. They are one coaters and dry pretty fast. Also, they have a holographic shimmer in the sun. Even though they're glitter/shimmer polishes, removal is as easy as a solid color polish.

And since my favorite color is pink...I had to reach for my OPI DS "Reflections".
I painted my nails first with OPI Base Coat (the whole nail, not just the part I was going to paint over with pink). Then, I painted a little more than half of my nails with the pink. I didn't use tape to get a perfect line, nor was I that careful, because I knew I was going to cover it up with gold glitter. The glitter I used is Ruby Wing "Ride 'Em Cowgirl". Then I topped it off my whole nail with OPI top coat.
Painting the whole nail with the top coat will give the non-painted area a nice glossy look!(:

I tried to do something that wasn't super fancy so I could keep my mind off my nails for a few days. I'm going to Seattle for my step-sister's wedding early tomorrow morning, and I won't have time to do my nails again until Thursday! I hope these last until then..
I'll have another fun blog post when I get back with lots of photos!

I hope you're having a great week, thanks for reading!

wHet Polish Dry Marble

Hey everyone!
Today I have a super fun design I'm SOOOO excited to share. I was playing around with this "dry marble" idea I've been seeing everywhere. I ended up with a really cool watermarble looking design!
There won't be too much info in this post on how I created this look because I already recorded a video tutorial for this. I will post it separately soon. But if you want to be one of the first to see it, make sure you are subscribed to my youtube channel here!
Also, make sure you're following my blog so you can be one of the first to see swatches of these beautiful polishes!

In the mean time, check out all these photos I took of the dry marble. I think these nails just became my favorite design I ever did!

I'm really diggin' the sparkly backdrop.
