Pretty Woman Sea Shell Nail Art

Hello everyone!
I'm all for some fun 3D nail art, especially if it's pink! Hehe...
I used some pink sea shells from Pretty Woman (check out some of their nail polish over here..) to create this look!

I used Pretty Woman nail polish "Blow Pop" as my base for these shells.
All I had to do to get the shells to stick was to add a clear coat, and then place my nail while it's still wet into the container with the shells. The shells simply stick to the nails. I applied a very generous top coat to keep the shells from falling off.
Over all, these nails took no longer than 10 minutes to do, including the base color and shells!

They look really cool and unique. They have a few other colors of shells that come in the same package as these, which you will see on my blog at a later time!

The shells are a tiny bit messy, so I suggest putting down some napkins or something before you open the container incase some spill out.

The shells remind me of rock candy..which I haven't had since I was little!

CityMani Nail Salon Service

Hello everyone!
I have a somewhat different post today with some information I want to share with you. I recently attended a launch party for CityMani (that post you can see here). It was super fun, and a great way to launch such a cool company.
(C) CityMani, logo from their website.
CityMani is a salon service in New York that lets customers make appointments into get their nails done in their own home, office, or anywhere you please.
When I was approached to share more about their company on my blog, at first I was a little nervous. I never had written a blog post like this. I was afraid it would sound more like an advertisement than a blog post.

From CityMani's launch party.
I still wanted to write a little bit about them, because I think their company is really unique. So after doing some research about them I put together two of my favorite things about their services that really set them apart from the rest.

1. They come to you, so you don't have to go to them
If you have ever felt too busy to go to the salon to get your nails done, this is for you! CityMani operates all the time, making it super convenient for you to get your nails done wherever and whenever you like!

2. ManisforCure Fundraisers
This is a party package CityMani offers that lets you add a CityMani manicure station to a charity event or fundraiser! They help you figure out a suggested donation amount for each manicure, and then donates it to the charity of your choice.

More photos from CityMani's launch event.

I sincerely hope that CityMani has great success in their future.
If you would like to read more about CityMani and what they have to offer, check out their website;

I hope that anyone reading this can learn something about this new nail service that they might have not known already.
I hope you enjoyed reading this some-what different blog post. Feel free to share your thoughts with me about it (either on this post, or you can even e-mail me if you wish).

I hope you're having a great week, thanks for reading!

Pretty Woman Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Hey everyone!
I'm sitting at my desk wtiring this thinking..it's already the first day of my final year in college. It's the weirdest feeling. It felt like my first day of freshman year was just yesterday!
Dramatic subject change....
NAILS YAY
hahaha
Here are some of my swatches and thoughts on a few polishes from the company Pretty Woman.

"Blow Pop"
From the Core Collection.
This pastel pink polish (say that five times fast..haha) is a great color for these fleating summer days! Application was smooth and easy. I guess it's actually more of a coral than pink. But still, super cute.
Both photos below are 2 coats on each nail with top coat.

inside

outside

"Stingray Chrome"
Top-selling color from the Chrome Collection.
This polish is a beautiful duo-chrome. Color shifts from a deep blue to purple. The duo-chrome is more evident in the shade and indoors. In the sun, the polish has a nice shimmer.

both photos taken outside in the shade.
3 thin coats on each nail with top coat.
These two photos became super saturated when I uploaded them into blogger...I don't know why or how to fix it!)':

"Sun of a Beach"
From the Sand Collection, launching late August.
This gold glitter bomb is a textured polish. Goes on very smooth and evenly. It's so packed with glitter, that it is opaque in only 2 coats. I didn't have to use anything underneath! Also, dry time was super fast.

Salon Perfect "Pop!" Collection Swatches & Review!

Hey everyone!
I have a lot of info to share with you, including photos, of Salon Perfect's newest Summer Neon collection "POP!"
So get ready, I hope you're in for some neon overload!
Here is some info about the collection from the press release.

"Neon nails are the it mani for summer and Salon Perfect’s new Neon POP collection gives you 12 bright and bold shades that will surely POP. Available now at Walmart stores nationwide for just $3.98 each, these high-voltage shades are must-haves for summer."

The 12 shades along with a white and top coat;
"Flamingo Flair" - Neon flamingo pink
"Electric Grape-Glitter" - charged electric purple
"Perky Pink" - Bubbly bright pink
"Tickled Pink" - Neon bubblegum pink
"Traffic Cone" - Neon orange
"Yowza Yellow" - Highlighter yellow
"Summer Escape" - Blazing sunny orange
"Oceanic" - Bright blue with a jolt of glitter
"Haute Pink" - Scorching hot pink
"Gone Sailing" - Energizing sea green shimmer
"Loopy Lime" - Luminous lime green
"Fired Up Fuchsia" - Flashy fuchsia shimmer
"Sugar Cube" - bright white creme
"Crystal Clear" - clear top coat for a glossy finish

Most of these shades don't need the white base to become fully opaque, but you do want to use the white to help prevent the polish from staining your nails. Especially the purple shades.
Keep reading after the swatches to see some comparison photos from shades in this collection that look very similar but actually are not!
Here are swatches of nine out of the twelve new shades..

"Haute Pink"

This one seems more of a red than pink..so the name confused me a tad. It's still super bright; this one and "Yowza Yellow" are the two most blindingly neon shades in this collection!

pointer - 2 coats, white base, no top coat / middle - 2 coats, white base, with top coat / ring - 2 coats, no white base, no top coat / pinkie - 2 coats, no base, with top coat

"Traffic Cone"
This polish has a really nice shimmer to it in the sun!

"Flamingo Flair"
This shade in the collection, along with "Tickled Pink", is what I like to refer to as a pastel-neon. I highly recommend these two shades to someone who doesn't like the bright, attention grabbing neon colors, but still want to wear a bright and summer-y color.
It's hard to explain, but these shades, as you can see, are not stark neon. (Easily compared to the shades above and below this one). They are a lot softer of a shade than your typical neon. It is still really bright, though. Just in a different way! It's very unique to see in a neon collection.

"Yowza Yellow"
Now THIS is your bright, blinding, show stopping, attention grabbing, typical neon polish. The only thing I didn't like about this polish in particular is that even after 5 coats (without using a white base) you can still see a subtle hint of my nail line underneath. So you can't really wear this one on its own. But on the other hand, using a white base makes it a bazillion times brighter and crazier. And when you're looking for a neon polish to wear, you go big or go home, am I right? haha. If I had to pick one polish out of this collection that is the most neon and glows the brightest, I would choose this one.

"Loopy Lime"
I love this shade so much because of the green shimmer that you can clearly see in the sun. I don't know why, but I love when neon polishes have a shimmer in them to the point I almost prefer to wear them over neon polishes that don't have shimmer..hmm personal preference, but felt the need to share(:

"Bermuda Baby"
A beautiful soft, neon blue. It's weird calling a neon polish soft. The color itself, that you can see in the photo on the left, looks like a soft blue. In person, this shade acts like a neon in that it is bright all hours of the day. It also has a shimmer to it, as seen in the sun.
The formula of the polish is a bit thick, which made the application a little annoying. Some of the brush strokes are visible.

"Plum Sorbet"
These photos are still super accurate, but I still feel like the color is showing a little too red. It feels more purple when compared to the red in this collection, though. (Damn, I didn't even think to include a comparison of those two colors..)
left; inside // right; outside
pointer - 2 coats, white base, no top coat / middle - 2 coats, white base, with top coat / ring - 2 coats, no white base, no top coat / pinkie - 2 coats, no base, with top coat

"Fired Up Fuchsia"
More of a hot pink than fuchsia in my opinion. This shade shimmers in the sun.

pointer - 2 coats, white base, no top coat / middle - 2 coats, white base, with top coat / ring - 2 coats, no white base, no top coat / pinkie - 2 coats, no base, with top coat

"Tickled Pink"
Another pastel-neon.

pointer - 2 coats, white base, no top coat / middle - 2 coats, white base, with top coat / ring - 2 coats, no white base, no top coat / pinkie - 2 coats, no base, with top coat

"Sugar Cube"
I think this just became my favorite white polish! Application was like butter.

2 coats on each nail; shown with no top coat

Comparison Swatches
I decided to do some comparison swatches with some of the shades from this collection. Although some may look similar, when seen together, you can clearly tell the difference between the two.

"Fired Up Fuchsia" & "Plum Sorbet"
The difference is very clear between these two in these photos. "Fired Up Fuchsia" is more of a purple-pink while "Plum Sorbet" is a tad darker and more of a red-ish shade. If the polishes are just sitting there next to each other, at first glance you might mix-up the two because of how purple they both are.
left; inside // right; outside
pointer - "Fired Up Fuchsia" / middle "Plum Sorbet" / ring "Fired Up Fuchsia" / pinkie "Plum Sorbet"
Both colors are shown with 2 coats over a white base with top coat.

"Haute Pink" & "Traffic Cone"
I mainly wanted to include comparison swatches in this post because of these two colors. They are very different in real life, one being more red and the other a shimmery orange, but they photograph very similarly and I didn't want any of you to think they were the same color! "Haute Pink" photographs so neon that it can be seen as orange by mistake. But as you can see here side by side, they are completely different colors.
left; inside // right; outside
pointer - "Haute Pink" / middle "Traffic Cone" / ring "Haute Pink" / pinkie "Traffic Cone"
Both colors are shown with 2 coats over a white base with top coat.

"Tickled Pink" & "Flamingo Flair"
At first glance these two colors might easily be compared to each other because they are the two pastel-neon colors in this collection. When you get a better look, you can tell they are no where near similar.
left; inside // right; outside
pointer - "Tickled Pink" / middle "Flamingo Flair" / ring "Tickled Pink" / pinkie "Flamingo Flair"
Both colors are shown with 2 coats over a white base with top coat.

You can find out more about this collection here;
You can only purchase these at Walmart for $3.98 each!

I hope you have a great week, thanks for reading!

A Week in North Carolina

Hey everyone!
I just recently got back from a week vacationing in North Carolina on the Outer Banks! I wanted to share what I wore on my nails the whole time I was there, and some other photos from the week.

NCLA- "High Above the City Lights"
OPI- "DS Reflections"

My sister did my hair purple too! It looked a little pink while I was in the car on the ride down there. It came out after like two days, but it was fun while it lasted.

On the road, I think I took this around 7 or 8 am. The fog was so beautiful.

The first day..[left] the house we stayed in, [right] the first Carolina sunset of the week!

The second day we were there we took a trip to the beach..it was a beautiful day to go for a long walk.

My crazy and awesome family(:

Photos of me and my family before my cousin's wedding! You can tell the purple is no longer in my hair at this point, haha.

 I cried maybe a little *a lot*

The dinner set up for after the wedding..the tables and decorations were literally right out of a magazine! It was so beautiful.

Bride and groom send off!

Early morning sunrise on the ride back home.

It was one amazing week! If you actually made it through the whole thing and didn't just stop after my nails, thank you! Even if you did stop at just my nails, thanks for stopping by to look at them!(:
I love the photos I took while I was there, I still have a couple hundred to go through!
I hope you all enjoyed the little photo gallery..
And happy Friday! Yay weekend!
My classes starts up again on Monday..woah where did the summer even go? I literally blinked and it was over! Not fair!
I hope you all had an amazing summer..now go out and enjoy your weekend!(:

Thanks for reading!
